The New Forest Ninth Centenary Trust publications consist of two distinct types. The first is the New Forest Record Series which makes readily available archive research material. These presently consist of five volumes published between 2006-8; each includes a scholarly essay introducing the documents. They are the first volumes of this type produced for nearly a quarter of a century. They include comprehensive indexes which enable researchers to easily find references to people and places as well as forest related subjects.
The NFNCTrust also publishes some social and local history works and has re-published a number of important Forest books long out of print. Foremost amongst these is a revised and updated version of Colin Tubb’s The New Forest. This was first published in the New Naturalist Series in 1986 and soon became a standard work.
